Height of dental crown used to determine the age of Eneolithic large deer game
Abrasion of dental crown and the shape of denture occlusal surface are significant indicators in age determination of domestic mammals. The factors that significantly influence age determination of Eneolithic deer game in conditions of an open wildlife habitat are climatic changes that influenced their survival, as well as specific features of teeth morphological structure. In this paper the ag...
متن کاملPALEOBIOGEOGRAPHY: The Relevance of Fossils to Biogeography
■ Abstract Paleobiogeography has advanced as a discipline owing to the increasing utilization of a phylogenetic approach to the study of biogeographic patterns. Coupled with this, there has been an increasing interdigitation of paleontology with molecular systematics because of the development of techniques to analyze ancient DNA and because of the use of sophisticated methods to utilize molecu...

species distributions even more than the limits of their fundamental niches: interspecific interactions, dispersal limitations, and disequilibrium or historical contingencies (Fig. 1; Peterson et al. 2011). Occasionally, there may also be situations where a species distribution strays outside of its fundamental niche, for example in the cases of facultative interactions or sink populations (Fig...
متن کاملPaleoecology and Paleobiogeography of the New York Appalachian Basin Eurypterids
Eurypterids are a diverse group of arthropods with a wide range of body morphologies and lifestyles. They are poorly understood because their fossils are rare. However, they are quite prevalent in the Appalachian Basin, typically interpreted to be a hypersaline environment. This paper documents the temporal and geographic distribution of eurypterids in the Appalachian Basin in order to address ...
